		<Abstract>Background and Aim: As a plant of the Apiaceae family, Echinophora Cinerea Boiss can grow up to 30 to 100 cm tall. The essential oil of E. cinerea contains phenolic compounds. Phenolic Compounds are one of the best sources of natural antioxidants. The present research aimed to evaluate the chemical compounds, and the antibacterial as well as antioxidant and cytotoxic activities of E. cinerea essential oil.Materials and Methods: The hydrodistillation method and gas chromatography coupling with a mass spectrometer (GC/MS) were used to prepare and identify the chemical compounds of the essential oil. The antioxidant capacity of the essential oils was evaluated by DPPH and was compared with standard antioxidants (BHT). The antibacterial test was carried out by Broth Micro Dilution, Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC), and Minimum Bactericidal Concentration (MBC) methods. These oils were evaluated and compared after 24 and 48 h to control the antibiotic.Results: The main constituents of the essential oil were combined with plant α-phellandrene (32.09), limonene (16.28), P-cymene (10.75), α-pinene (9.79), carvacrol (3.79), and β-Myrcene (2.65). IC50 for the essential oil of E. cinerea and BHT was 0.74 and 52.72 μg/ml, respectively. Strong antibacterial impacts of the essential oils belonged to Staphylococcus aureus (MIC = 0.16 μg/ml and MBC = 0.63 μg/ml. The results of inhibitory effects on tumor cell lung have shown that via increasing the concentration, the inhibitory effects of cell have increased, so that at the highest concentrations, more than 60% of tumor cells were inhibited and the IC50 was 3589.31 µg /ml.Conclusion: The present study demonstrates that Echinophora could have considerable antibacterial, antioxidant and cytotoxicity properties. The essential oil of this plant is effective against important human bacterial pathogens. It is also a determinant of nosocomial infection </Abstract>

		<Abstract>Background and Aim: Cesarean section is the most common and painful surgical procedure throughout the world. The aim of this research was to evaluate the effect of lavender aromatherapy on the pain level after cesarean section.Materials and Methods: The present study is a double-blind clinical trial conducted on 110 eligible women undergoing cesarean section. The samples were randomly divided into two groups, namely groups A and B. A lavender extract intervention was given to the group A, and a placebo intervention to the group B. Cotton swabs were impregnated with five drops of 100% lavender extract for the intervention group and with five drops of distilled water in the placebo group. It was inserted in their facial oxygen mask and inhaled for three minutes in 4, 8 and 12 hours after the surgery, and then pain score was measured 30 minutes after the intervention. Data were collected using a demographic questionnaire and the visual analog scale. Data analysis was conducted by Wilcoxon’s test and Mann-Whitney’s U-test to compare the severity of pain before and following the intervention in both groups and its variations. Generalized estimating equations (GEE) with an appropriate linear link function were used to examine the effect of lavender on the severity of pain. The significance level was considered 0.05.Results: The severity of pain had a higher level in the lavender group, while pain intensity showed significant distinction between the two groups only on the second (P=0.039) and the third (P=0.011) interventions. Overall, the variations in pain before and after the intervention were similar in the lavender and placebo groups and showed no significant differences.Conclusion: The results of the present study indicated that lavender extract could be effective in the reduction of the pain of cesarean section in the later hours. Hence, lavender extract could be a suitable alternative complementary medicine for the pain of cesarean section. After adjusting for the confounding variables, the multivariate analysis also showed that lavender had no noticeable positive effect on the severity of pain. </Abstract>

		<Abstract>Background and Aim: Parkinson is known as the second most common disease of the nervous system after Alzheimer&#039;s disease. Parkinsonism is primarily caused by idiopathic Parkinson&#039;s disease. The second most common cause of this disorder is the consumption of drugs. Flavonoid compounds are natural polyphenolic compounds found in many plants. Naringenin (4’, 5, 7-trihydroxyflavanone) is a flavonoid found in fruits and vegetables with various protective effects on the nervous system.Materials and Methods: Rats were divided into five groups of eight rats. The intraperitoneal administration of naringenin was conducted at doses of 100, 200, and 400 mg/kg. The animal received perphenazine thirty minutes following the administration of different doses of naringenin, normal saline and bromocriptine. The rats were analyzed using Morpurgo test for scoring their muscle stiffness 20, 40, 60, 90, 120, 180, and 240 minutes after perphenazine injection. Kruskal-Wallis test was performed to check the differences between the groups (multiple comparisons). We used Mann-Whitney U test in order to compare the distinction between two independent groups.Results: The reduction of the muscle stiffness of the naringenin-intake group was not significant with the dose of 100 mg/kg compared with the positive control group. (P &lt; 0.05). The reductions in stiffness in naringenin intake with the doses of 200 and 400 mg/kg were not remarkable in comparison with the positive control group.Conclusion: According to the results, naringenin does not have any significant effect on catatonia induced by perphenazine in the dose of 100 mg/kg but its infusion in the doses of 200 and 400 mg/kg showed significant reduction in muscle stiffness. </Abstract>

		<Abstract>Background and Aim: Lecaniodiscus cupanioides is one of the numerous plants therapeutically used in  Southwestern Nigeria for controlling and curing several health complications. In this study, the in vivo effects of the ethanolic extract of L. cupanioides on sperm morphology of albino mice were investigated.Materials and Methods: Fifteen mice (18.2g to 24.8g) were divided into 3 groups of 5 mice. The treatment groups were orally administered 100 and 400mg/kg of the extract, and the control group received distilled water for 49 days. At the expiration of exposure, the mice were sacrificed by jugular puncture. Epididymis and testes were harvested for sperm cytological analysis and testes histology.Results: Fourteen types of sperm morphological abnormalities observed included: no hook, head with double tails, knobbed hook, amorphous head, bent hook, hook at wrong angle, tail folded over head, pin head, banana-shaped head, tail with no head (prominent), tail with double heads, head with triple tails, wrong tail attachment and head with no tail. Incidence was not significantly different from the control. Furthermore, no correlation between the dose level of the administered drug and incidence of abnormal sperms was observed. Hence, various abnormalities might probably be adduced to natural mistakes during differentiation in spermiogenesis, chromosomal aberration during packaging of genetic material in sperm head, occurrence of small deletions and point mutation during spermatogenesis. Histology of the testes did not show any malformation or alteration, which implies a highly conserved histoachitecture.Conclusion: This suggests that the extract might be devoid of any toxic effect on the male reproductive organs and sperms at the doses evaluated within the exposure period </Abstract>

		<Abstract>As one of the major constituents of medicinal plant extracts, thymol has remarkable anti-worm properties. The contents of 5 English databases, including Scopus, PubMed, Web of Science, Embase and Google Scholar in the time span from 2008 to December 2019 were searched. All the relevant studies with English abstracts were searched regardless of the language of their discussions. Words and terms are used as syntax with specific tags from each database. Eleven out of 2146 studies were found eligible for evaluation. The findings indicated that 100% of the studies were about hydatid cysts and thymol. Moreover, 6 in vitro (55%) and 3 in vivo studies (27%), as well as 2 studies both in vitro and in vivo (18%), were carried out. According to these studies, thymol, as one of the major constituents of plant compounds, has a significant role in killing and reducing the parasitic protoscolex in vitro and in vitro. Likewise, thymol could have significant effects on restructuring protoscoleces and ultimately on their mortality. Thymol has an anti-hydatid cyst effect with the least side effects, and could be a good alternative to the treatment and prevention of anti-protoscoleces infections or in other studies against other helminth infections. </Abstract>
